My name is Beda. I work as an IT consultant and am a tenant in Zurich. As part of my master's thesis, I focused extensively on the Swiss rental market and the challenges tenants face. In many conversations, I have seen just how difficult and emotional the topic of renting can be—especially when trying to realistically assess your own situation and determine the next steps.
The Information Imbalance.
What has always concerned me is not so much the specific rental price, but the feeling behind it. Uncertainty quickly becomes the norm. You sign because you have to. You don't ask questions because you don't know your rights or are afraid of losing the apartment.
At the same time, property managers and owners possess a wealth of information and comparative data, while tenants have had little access to it. This imbalance makes fair decisions difficult and strains trust.
Guidance through Transparency.
It became clear to me that many problems do not arise from indifference, but from a lack of orientation. Rules exist. Data exists. Yet in everyday life, they are difficult to access and rarely connected.
This is exactly where Wowoni comes in. I am working on Wowoni because I am convinced that transparency is in everyone's interest. When information is presented clearly and shared, better decisions are made.
Not every rent is unfair. Not every situation is solvable. But every decision should be based on understanding, not on feeling overwhelmed or pressured for time.
